New Suite Offering from Adobe

Adobe in typical 18-24 month fashion is going to be releasing its newest suite apps. Enter CS5… I guess there is a lot of new ground breaking features with this latest updated suite.

You can sign up for the global launch show here. The official launch is set for April 12, 2010 at 8am PST.

Early adopters of web, design, video, and photography are sure to be there. The question I have at this point is, “If I purchase CS4 before official CS5 announcement, am I going to be eligible for free upgrade?” Time will only tell this one, but I am still excited. Effective immediately I will be refocusing my blog to talk more about things pertaining to video and affiliate marketing. As well as, any other thing I find cool or entertaining. I continually find myself attracted to video and imagery with eye candy in it, so this is going to feel more natural to me. In addition I hope to share some marketing insights that would relate to video and marketing on the internet. I will be changing the site up over the next couple weeks to better serve the online community.

Not very often you come across an internet marketing resource that is pretty stand up, so I wanted to share it with you. I have done some of the Stompernet stuff, and it is quite frankly.. Awesome! Seriously…? Why didn’t I get the memo? I will tell you why! Because I don’t subscribe to the theory of ‘Get Rich Quick’ Never have and never will.. So I am guessing a lot of you came to this post because you thought I was going to start bashing Internet Marketing, well sorry to disappoint, but I am not going to do that today. I might start in on MLM or Network Marketing though! lol Just kidding… I am not a hater so don’t start flaming. There are some great MLM and Network Marketing companies out there.

When I started writing this article I started thinking of one situation that came about just recently.  I received a phone call from a company that claimed they will have me making a substantial amount of money a month in less than a year.  Red flags started going up at this point.. They even used one of the guru’s names claiming they taught him the ropes and that is why he is who he is today… Wow, now I was really impressed… Thinking this may not be the internet marketing scam after all. So, I went ahead and did the pre-qual and then got to talk to “The Man”… He laid out what they will do for me, asked me a couple questions as to why I thought I was someone who they should train etc.  I listened to him for 50 min before he finally asked me for the sale.Well guess what my answer was?  It was no thank you I respectfully decline your gracious offer to take a one time lump sum payment out on my credit card in order to secure my apprentice position in the company. I can tell you why it was the best thing I have ever done. I proceeded to listen to me make the sale pitch again.. This guy was good, he asked me how I was going to do this if I didn’t have anyone to show me… where was I going to be in 6mo if I didn’t do this with him… blah blah blah

This is where it gets ugly… So I again tell him, no thank you… I can hear in his voice he is frustrated now! I stick to my guns now and he finally asks me… Clint, why didn’t you tell me a half hour ago you were not interested. I replyed… “Because I wanted to hear the whole deal from you before I made my decision”. Apparently, that was the wrong answer because he proceeded to start yelling at me over the phone. Telling me I am just going to be laying in bed a year from now with the covers pulled up over my head and crying because I am totally disappointed in my life because I didn’t take action today! With that credit card…

Before he wound up hanging up the phone with me, I asked him if this was the way he treats people who he is going to get paid to train, no reply… After he hung up, I asked myself at that point… “Is this really a company that I want to do business with?”  Of course the answer is Hell No!  So here is the moral of my story.. Always listen and think before you leap into something head first so you don’t get taken by the next Internet Marketing Scam…  Common sense approach to living is what I call it!  I am so glad I didn’t proceed down that road.  I would have been so disappointed.

I have been doing a lot of research lately with regard to Internet and Affiliate marketing. In the process, I have come across a bunch of best tools to use for helping with your online business efforts. So many in fact that you will probably get dizzy researching them all.  I noticed some people call their brain, or their computer, or their internet connection a tool, but for the sake of argument I am gonna call those givens.  If we didn’t have brains, computers, or internet… we would not even be here in the first place. So aside from that.

Here are my 3 picks for my favorite’s and why I like them…

The first one is Roboform, and here are the reasons why I like it so much:

• Remembers Your Passwords
• Logs You Into Online Accounts Automatically with One Click
• Secures Your Information
• Prevents Identity Theft
• Is Easy to Use
• Fills online forms with one click

The list could probably go on, but the one thing that I want to share with you that is not on this list is the Time savings you will incur from using Roboform. If I had to save all my user names and passwords to a separate spreadsheet and  copy and past every time I wanted to go to a website, not to mention bookmarking the website and trying to find it in my 1,000 bookmarks.  The time you will save will more than pay for this awesome piece of software in just one week. I know that sounds like an ad, but seriously.. this software was and has been recommended by every IM (Internet Marketing) Guru out there.  If you don’t get this you are wasting serious time you could be doing other things like generating more traffic, or developing new products to sell. Enough said…

The next favorite tool I like is WordPress.  It is open source so it is free, it has tons of plugins so you can do anything from posting articles, to selling widgets on your site.  Definetly worth Checking out, and if you really want the best online blogging experience get the Thesis Theme for it also… “More simply put, WordPress is what you use when you want to work with your blogging software, not fight it.”

Next, Mine and half the planets favorite tool(s) is Google.  There is a list in that google link of all of their products and projects. Everything from keyword searching to spotting trends, photo albums, stores… you name it and google has it. They even have a free suite of publishing tools similar to Office.

Lastly, you have the email autoresponder. This is one of your best friends and one that you definitely want to get as soon as your budget for your business will allow you to do so. The autoresponder is going to allow you to send email letters, publish an opt-in form on your website, create follow up messages for your email list, manage email campaigns, keep track of your email statistics, and the list goes on and on.  I personally use Aweber right now I always hear great things about them, and have always had great luck with their level of professionalism and their customer/tech support is bar none.

I am sure you might try to argue that there are free tools of everything you listed here.. I know there is so no argument here about free. I still use some free tools just because they are so great for the cost… lol can’t beat nothing!

Focus on Affiliate Marketing

It has come to my attention that if you have not been focusing on the right things in order to have your affiliate marketing business get off the ground there may still be hope for you.  “Focus on the right things and the rest will follow!”  Jason Dinner recently told me to focus on the task at hand… This message seems to be reoccurring also. See this message from Perry Marshall.  Oh, and here are a couple more… Justin Brooke and Jimmy Brown.

A list of loyal follower’s that know when I say something that I mean what I say and with all my integrity believe it to be honest and true.  I was finding myself getting caught up with all the internet marketing ‘guru’ offers out there.  I was even thinking about subscribing to a couple, but honestly… I have enough to try and figure out with the material I already have.

We have all heard about multitasking and how great it is for some people.  The truth of the matter is multitasking actually lowers IQ’s and makes what we are working on suffer in quality and the time to actually finish a project.  If you have that much to do… make a list and keep updating it daily so you do not forget what to work on next.  I would implore you to only focus on one thing at a time and minimize the distractions around you during those focused times.

So my best advice in lieu of all the information presented to me suggests that anyone trying to make a successful business online would need to focus on one thing at a time.  Follow some of the tips that are mentioned in the articles above. Use old school techniques like note cards and high tech techniques like using your calender in Google or outlook. The important thing is that you take action and follow through!
