I have been following along with Ed Dales Thirty Day Challenge and I have made a new friend. His name is Herb and his site has an excellent synopsis of the challenge and some personal insight to the challenge and his personal life. I really like what I read at  Fail In The Field today. He reflected about his personal battle with weight loss a little and how desiring something is an absolute fundamental in securing your wants… Go check out his blog so far. I am a lifer now Herb! Talking about being like a rock! Don’t move or the house of cards may crumble… Today’s topic is building a business on a solid foundation. How many times a day do you say, man I hope that guy never works for me? or I am glad that is not me… You see it every day, people going about their business lives acting like complete idiots when it comes to conducting business. You know who they are… Yet, no one points it out to them that if they don’t change the way they treat people, there will be no more business for them. At least the rewards will not be as great if you were to not go out and establish those relationships.

I am sure I just lost some of you here, so I will summarize here… If you don’t go out everyday and establish yourself in the marketplace by branding yourself or your company as being someone who cares and will help you solve your problems, you might as well hang it up because there is going to be someone who just rolls over you. I ran across this video where Gary Vaynerchuk details how he became such a big success in his online business wine library video blogging site where he gets 85k visitors a day, yes a day!  He does it, kills it, loves it and rocks it! In the video he is going to talk about how you and I can monetize our site doing something similar to what he does even if its only 85 visitors a day.  He tells how he is out there everyday branding his web presence and building business relationships on that solid foundation, and that is making him a very wealthy man. The video is long but his personally inspiring message is worth every minute!

I suppose all of you are wondering why this website came to be or the motivation behind what we are doing here.  Well about 18 days ago I started the 30 Day Apprentice Challenge with Justin and Chaunna Brooke from Sitefling.com.  The process is to ultimately garner us a coveted position as apprentice for them. Very cool contest prize btw..  I am creating a branded site for myself in the Internet Marketing and Affiliate Marketing realm. So one of our assignments was to post a video on youtube or viddler or something in order to explain what we are doing, tell some successes we have had with our site, or just talk about some personal challenges that we have overcome as a part of this challenge.  So, check out the video below…

So, what did you think, I am personally very excited about this project… It has definitely challenged me, and I am growing as a result of this 30 day apprentice challenge. Focus on Affiliate Marketing

It has come to my attention that if you have not been focusing on the right things in order to have your affiliate marketing business get off the ground there may still be hope for you.  “Focus on the right things and the rest will follow!”  Jason Dinner recently told me to focus on the task at hand… This message seems to be reoccurring also. See this message from Perry Marshall.  Oh, and here are a couple more… Justin Brooke and Jimmy Brown.

A list of loyal follower’s that know when I say something that I mean what I say and with all my integrity believe it to be honest and true.  I was finding myself getting caught up with all the internet marketing ‘guru’ offers out there.  I was even thinking about subscribing to a couple, but honestly… I have enough to try and figure out with the material I already have.

We have all heard about multitasking and how great it is for some people.  The truth of the matter is multitasking actually lowers IQ’s and makes what we are working on suffer in quality and the time to actually finish a project.  If you have that much to do… make a list and keep updating it daily so you do not forget what to work on next.  I would implore you to only focus on one thing at a time and minimize the distractions around you during those focused times.

So my best advice in lieu of all the information presented to me suggests that anyone trying to make a successful business online would need to focus on one thing at a time.  Follow some of the tips that are mentioned in the articles above. Use old school techniques like note cards and high tech techniques like using your calender in Google or outlook. The important thing is that you take action and follow through!
