The next time you go to your local coffee shop take note of the people that are hanging out there. Those people are your new social network. Go back to the coffee shop the same time over the next couple weeks. Do you see a trend? I bet you have noticed that the same people you saw the first day have showed up multiple times over the next couple weeks of visiting the same coffee shop at the same times during the day. After a couple of encounters you can work on introducing yourself and getting to know these new people. When the time is right they will start talking to new people in front of you and suddenly triangulation occurs and your network increases exponentially. This is where you are introduced into new social circles and a time to share with people what you do for a living. Do not, I repeat do not try to tell them what you do when you first meet the people. Over time you can share what you do and in a non threatening way. Trust me, I have made this mistake myself multiple times, and by writing this down I will be more conscious about how I approach people. Better yet according to what I just learned its going to be better not to approach them at all. Truly, attraction marketing at its best right? Hello again good people, and thanks for coming to read yet another stellar article brought to you by AskClintAnderson.com. Today we are going to talk about writing persuasive articles for blogs… I already can hear the questions coming in about it.  Persuasive in the respect of keeping your readers interest long enough for them to take your action at the end of the article.

This is a test in article writing in itself because I have to try and talk about this and keep it interesting enough for you to actually continue reading. lol So, there are a couple things that you are going to want to do when writing your articles for syndication on your blog.

First rule of blog writing is to come up with a Title that just screams click me cuz I want to be read by you! So writing persuasive articles for blogs is lame title I know, so lets work on that a little… I was taught once how to do this, but I still have to practice it from time to time. You create a subject and some kind of shocking action statement with an odd number in there and voila you have a headline. I added the text in parentheses in order to spice up the title a little. It kind of grabs your attention. Just 3, well I have to read them.. quick and easy right..

Second thing to consider when writing persuasive articles for blogs is the body, meat portion of the article.  You want to keep the reading lite and fun.. Maybe put in a couple of your instant messenger acronyms or something.. lol right? You always want to keep the reader engaged enough to always want more, and of course you are always sprinkling bits of quality content just to keep them reading on and wanting more.  The best situation when writing persuasive articles for blogs is when you get to the end of your article and you leave the reader hanging so much, that they have to opt in for the list to get the conclusion to your suspend filled article, but you have to deliver!  Don’t deliver in that situation and you have lost your reader forever.

Third and final tip (I know you were keeping track) is always include your call to action at the end of your article. Even if it is to tell them to leave a comment, or go opt in to your newsletter, or just retweet a message. All easy things for a reader to accomplish, but if you don’t ask they won’t do it for you, unless they have been trained on how to get link juice like Justin Brooke from Sitefling.com has taught me.  I would compare it to when you are trying to make a sale. I was at Hooters one night and the waitress wanted my cousin and I to buy some special calendar right? Well, she had this great schpeal going on, told us how the ladies get picked for the calendar etc.  Showed us the back where all the sample pictures are, and the benefits of the calender.. getting to save money on food purchases in the future.  Well, she forgot one thing… You got it! She forgot to ask for us to actually buy the damn thing.  We both walked out and I laughed because I knew she forgot to ask for the sale…  I digress, so point is, just ask for your reader to do something at the end of your article.
